本場のコンベンションと同様、「Musicality」「Performance」「Singing」の三つのカテゴリ（観点）から審査が行われます。
JBC2024では、日本で初めて3カテゴリについてのBHSの認定ジャッジをアメリカから招聘し、公式と同じ基準での審査を行います。
Musicalityカテゴリ ジャッジ
Dan Wessler
Dan Wesslerは コロラド大学ボルダー校で音楽芸術博士号（コーラス指揮および文学）を取得し（'23）ウェスタン・イリノイ大学で合唱指揮の修士号を取得しています（'12）。現在、彼は4度の国際バーバーショップコーラスチャンピオンおよび2009年の Choir of the World の優勝コーラスでありロサンゼルスを拠点とする Westminster Chorus のディレクターを務めています。また Danは2018年のバーバーショップ国際大会のカルテットチャンピオンである After Hours のメンバーであり、アメリカ国内外で頻繁に演奏旅行を行っています。複数のバーバーショップコーラスフェスティバルで講師として活動し、国際的なバーバーショップ教育イベントで講座を担当しています。また、積極的なバーバーショップの編曲者でもあります。Danは世界中の様々なグループ向けに125以上のアレンジメントを書き、そのうちのいくつかはHal Leonard社から出版されています。
また、Dan は現在コンコルディア大学アーヴァイン校の非常勤教員を務め、学部の合唱指導法を教えています。南カリフォルニアに移る前は、2012年から2020年までイリノイ州フリーポートのフリーポート高校の合唱活動ディレクターを務めていました。
Dan Wessler holds a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Choral Conducting and Literature from University of Colorado Boulder (’23) and a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting from Western Illinois University (’12). He is currently the Musical and Artistic Director of the Los-Angeles based Westminster Chorus, the four-time International Barbershop Chorus Champion and 2009 Choir of the World winner. Dan also sings with After Hours, the 2018 International Barbershop Quartet Champion, with whom he travels and sings frequently, inside and outside of the United States. He has served as clinician for several barbershop chorus festivals, taught courses at international barbershop educational events, and is an active barbershop arranger. Dan has written over 125 arrangements for various groups around the world, a number of which have been published by Hal Leonard.
Dan also currently serves on the adjunct faculty of Concordia University Irvine, teaching undergraduate choral methods. Before moving to Southern California, he served as Director of Choral Activities at Freeport High School in Freeport, Illinois from 2012-2020.

Blair Brown
Blair Brown は、カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスを拠点とする歌手であり Performance のコーチです。2013年にミズーリ大学セントルイス校で音楽の学士号を取得し、Ambassadors of Harmony の共同ディレクターである Jim Henry 博士に師事しました。また2023年には、バーバーショップ・ハーモニー協会の Performance ジャッジの資格を取得しました。
Blair は、2度の BinG! 混声カルテット世界チャンピオンである Double Date で Lead を務めています。Double Date は2012年の結成以来、米国や世界中で演奏や指導・コーチを行ってきました。彼らは2枚のフルアルバムをリリースしており、現在は3枚目を制作中です。2枚目のアルバム『Accentuate the Positive』からは、CARAアワードを受賞した曲『Didn't We』が生まれ、2018年の「ベスト・バーバーショップ・ソング」に選ばれました。
2019年には、Blairはバーバーショップ・ハーモニー協会の国際ボードメンバーに初めて選出された女性となりました。パフォーマンスとコーチングへの情熱に加え、彼女はアマチュアのシェフであり、認定ヨガインストラクターでもあります。
Blair Brown is a singer and performance coach based in Los Angeles, CA. In 2013, she earned a BA in Music from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where she studied with Ambassadors of Harmony co-director, Dr. Jim Henry. In 2023 she was certified as a Performance Judge in the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Blair sings Lead with two-time BinG! World Mixed Quartet Champions, Double Date. Since their formation in 2012, Double Date has performed, taught, and coached throughout the US and around the world. They have recorded and produced two full-length albums and are working on their third. Their second album, Accentuate the Positive, produced CARA-award winning track, ‘Didn’t We’, which was awarded ‘Best Barbershop Song’ of 2018.
In 2019, Blair became the first woman elected to serve on the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Board of Directors. In addition to her passion for performing and coaching, Blair is an amateur chef and certified yoga instructor.

Steve Scott
Steve Scott は、バーバーショップハーモニー協会（BHS）所属の音楽教育者で、教育教材や音楽コレクションの作成と監修を行っています。30年以上にわたりバーバーショッパーとして活動しているSteveは、BHSスタッフに加わる前は大学で声楽と合唱を教えていました。彼の研究対象には、歌声の生理学、音響学、バーバーショップの歴史が含まれます。彼は Singing カテゴリの認定審査員であり、世界中のハーモニー・カレッジの講師を頻繁に務め、そこで声楽技術とボーカル指導法を教えています。Steve はまた、2022年の国際チャンピオン・コーラスでありテネシー州ナッシュビルを拠点とする Music City Chorus のアシスタントディレクター兼主任ボーカルコーチであり、また4度の国際チャンピオン・コーラスである Westminster Chorus を含む多数のバーバーショップコーラスのボーカルコーチを務めています。彼は妻と2人の子供と一緒にナッシュビル近郊に住んでいます。
Steve Scott is a music educator for the Barbershop Harmony Society where he creates and curates educational material and music collections. A barbershopper for over thirty years, Steve taught voice and choir at the college level before joining the BHS staff. His research interests include the biophysiology of the singing voice, acoustics, and barbershop history. He is a certified Singing judge, a frequent faculty member for harmony colleges around the world where he teaches voice techniques and vocal pedagogy and is a clinician, voice teacher, and coach. Steve also serves as the assistant director and principal vocal coach of the 2022 international champion chorus, the Music City Chorus, in Nashville TN. He enjoys living in the Nashville area with his wife and two children.
